Economic Recovery

There will be some very difficult decisions to be made during the upcoming legislative term, (starting in January 2021). The state is currently facing a budget shortfall of several hundred million dollars due to the shutdowns related to the COVID-19 pandemic. The shortfall and how to budget necessary functions of state government will need to be addressed as we work to recover from the pandemic-related economic downturn.

We do not want to place our state's economic recovery on the backs of individuals, families, or small businesses. We have all witnessed the financially burdensome, anti-family, and anti-liberty bills proposed and passed over the past two years and cannot afford any more of it. Thankfully, these disastrous bills did not become law, but we need to make sure that more burdensome and irresponsible ones do not make it out of the legislature.

If elected, I will work to make sure that we do not create a non-transparent and bloated government that over-spends, over-taxes, and over-regulates. I will also work to keep our liberties intact.
